Two month doctor's visit

Sebastian had his first set of immunizations yesterday.  He was a very brave boy!! He had three shots and an oral prepartion for the rotavirus (it was lemon flavored).  He cried briefly, mostly because he didn't like being held down, but he quickly recovered.  He enjoyed the rotavirus immunization and the oral acetaminophen (both cherry and grape flavors).  I think this means he is going to like solid foods...  He made funny faces at first but swallowed everything.

He also has new stats.  As of 10 weeks of age:

Height/length: 23.25 inches (53 percentile)
Weight: 11lbs 15 oz (46 percentile)
Head circumference: 15.25 inches (16 percentile)

Another hour of sleep!

Goodbye to October and hello to November.  It is amazing how quickly the time has gone by!  Matt has completed two weeks of his four week rotation at OHSU.  He also had his first residency interview (at OHSU) on Friday which went well.  Even though he has two weeks left, we are all now thinking that the worst is over.  Thanksgiving is definitely on the brain!  Matt will be spending only one more week in Portland alone as Sebastian and I will spend the last week in Portland with him.  We are excited to explore the city!

Sebastian has changed a lot since I last updated the blog.  He is following people much more now, tracking movements and making eye contact.  He also has started making a larger variety of sounds...  He squeals, coos, laughs, etc. etc.  He also is making excellent progress in his sleeping.  He is able to sleep through the night most of the time but still has 1-2 nights of insanity per week.  All in all, life is starting to somewhat stabalize with baby which means it is time for him to make a drastic change.

Breanne is visiting for the weekend which is great.  It feels like we are all back on Powderhouse again.  This morning, I woke up to find Breanne and Matt studying on their respective laptops and it looked all too familiar.  Sebastian slept for 8 hours, ate a ton, and then went back to sleep for another 3.  He is such a good little guy.

I am including a few pictures from the week.  Sebastian just found Winnie the Pooh on his bouncer which has been the source of much cross-eyed amusement.

Sebastian's first Halloween

We had a rather uneventful week leading up to Halloween.  Sebastian did a lot of sleeping.  In fact, he had 3 consecutive nights of sleeping 7 hours!  Of course, the 4th night (last night) was horrible but, hey, we celebrate our small victories even if they are short-lived.  I managed to take a few pictures of Sebastian and Fred in their respective attire made by Jazz Cisneros.  Technically, her name is "Jas" but I think "Jazz" is more fun.  :)  Note: Fred is a good sport.  He tolerates dress-up and hasn't fought back yet.

Sebastian and I were very glad to have Matt home for the weekend.  We all enjoyed a delicious welcome home dinner on Friday prepared by Nana Marjorie.  Nana and The Poobah went to Ashland, OR for a wedding on Saturday so the Dooley family was left alone for the evening.  We didn't burn the house down so we are considering the night a success.  Sebastian got into his Halloween costume this morning but spent the majority of the morning eating, sleeping, and cranking so we couldn't get any pictures until this afternoon/evening.  Thankfully, the outfit remained relatively spit-up-free!  Matt headed back to Portland after we took our Halloween pictures.  Again, we all miss him already.
